From The Journey: The Joy That Heals
What source consciousness reveals
During a recent shamanic energy healing session, a single word entered the healing field with remarkable clarity:
Mirth.
Almost immediately, the energetic landscape began to reorganise. The field expanded, strengthened and became palpably lighter. The session was no longer centred solely on releasing old patterns. Instead, it began rewiring consciousness around an entirely different organising principle—the transformative power of joy.
So why mirth?
Why would Source Consciousness choose a word so often associated with laughter and amusement to guide a profound healing experience?
Much of modern spirituality has come to associate transformation with effort, discipline and suffering. Many seekers believe awakening requires endless shadow work, continual self-improvement and the relentless dismantling of old identities. While each has its place, they represent only one movement within a far greater unfolding.
Creation itself reveals another way. The natural world does not strive to become what it already is. A flower does not force itself to bloom. Birds do not earn the right to sing. Rivers do not struggle towards the ocean. Life unfolds through an innate intelligence expressed as rhythm, creativity, curiosity and joyful expansion.
We too are designed to align with this natural unfolding. This is where the deeper symbolism of mirth emerges. Mirth is not merely happiness, because happiness often depends upon circumstance. Nor is it pleasure that comes and goes, or excitement that fades once the moment has passed. Mirth is something far more fundamental. It is the quiet delight of existence itself.
The simple, uncaused joy of being alive. There are moments when we unexpectedly remember this state. Standing before a magnificent sunrise. Listening to birdsong at dawn. Feeling the warmth of sunlight upon our skin. Walking barefoot on the earth. Watching a child laugh without restraint. For a brief moment, nothing needs to change. Nothing needs to be achieved. We simply become present to the extraordinary miracle of existence. This is our original nature.
It is not something we create, but something we remember. As we remember it, our energy field naturally begins to reorganise around it. Joy is no longer dependent upon external circumstances. Instead, it arises from the exquisite privilege of simply being alive.
As the healing continued, it became increasingly clear that the invitation was not simply to feel happier. The healing field was reorganising consciousness around this deeper remembrance.
It gently loosened the patterns that had organised life around striving, survival and perpetual self-improvement, while strengthening a new orientation founded upon presence, play, wonder and wholehearted participation in life itself. From this perspective, healing changes completely.
Healing is no longer only about releasing the past. It becomes the remembrance of what has always existed beneath it. Joy is no longer the reward waiting at the end of the healing journey. It becomes the stable ground from which the journey itself unfolds.
The invitation of Mirth is beautifully simple. Do not wait for life to become perfect before allowing yourself to experience its wonder. Do not postpone joy.Instead, create moments to consciously return to the simple delight of being alive.
This does not mean bypassing life's challenges. Rather, it is the recognition that beneath every circumstance exists a deeper frequency that remains untouched. A frequency we can consciously choose to align with, regardless of what life is asking of us. Sometimes this remembrance comes effortlessly.
At other times it asks us to slow down, become still, and gently reconnect with what has never truly been lost. The more often we remember this state, the more naturally it becomes available.
Perhaps the deepest healing is not found in changing our circumstances, but in remembering that the greatest miracle was never what life could give us. It was life itself.
The journey revealed the symbol. Source Consciousness revealed the teaching.
