Why did we call ourselves The Juicy Effect?

From Ayurveda, the 5,000 year old 'science of life' from ancient India, rasa means essence or juice, and ayana means path.  Rasayana is the science of rejuvenation or 'juicing up' in order to live a long and healthy life.  The Juicy Effect is the science of living, being and feeling more awesome more often.

What’s our story?

Our names are Sharon and Jason, originally from Australia. Around the year 2010, Sharon was already studying Ayurvedic Medicine as a way of helping people to improve their overall health, in particular their digestion.  Ayurveda teaches us that everyone has a unique and different body and mind constitution, what is referred to as your prakruti or body-mind blueprint.  In addition to this, everyone has different things that are important to them, views the world differently, makes different choices and takes different actions.  This explains why many fad diets and hacks don't always work for everyone. This fueled a desire to study other disciplines which we continue to do to this day, and we use this knowledge to help everyday people to live, be and feel more awesome more often.

We draw on a wide variety of techniques and disciplines

Our specialty is helping our customers to achieve overall wellbeing - the balance of body mind and spirit at the same time.  What we now know is that with the right combination of knowledge, tools and practices, it is possible for anyone to live their best life.  This is the foundation upon which The Juicy Effect operates. After all of the study and experience we’ve had, what we know to be true is that there is no single technique or body of knowledge that perfectly suits everyone all of the time, simply because we are all different. This is why we have carefully selected a variety of techniques that not only complement each other, but are highly effective.

The value we provide is that we have spent countless hours interpreting and integrating these various disciplines so that you don’t have to. We can help you discover what will work best for you.

We support awesome people

Where it becomes really exciting for us is that more and more of our customers are genuinely amazing people who want to make a positive impact on the world.  Did you know that every one of us has a circle of influence of around 120 people that we see on a daily and weekly basis. Friends, family, co-workers, clients, grocery store clerks, gym trainers, the person who smiles at you on the bus or walking down the street, etc.    By supporting you, we know we are making a difference in this world. We all intuitively know that our vibe impacts others, the science just happens to prove it!

We now call Ubud home

Although Sharon was actually born in Ireland, we have lived the majority of our lives in Australia.  We have also traveled extensively and lived in many other places around the world. But in 2011 we had an opportunity to discover Ubud and simply fell in love with the place. We discussed many times coming back here, and from 2015 we became regular visitors and started contemplating how can we move here? And then the universe found a way to make it happen. Several homeless cats started appearing at our rented Villa, and one by one we started taking them in and looking after them. First Puds, then Sunshine, two beautiful beings, and we also now have regulars Hungry and Patience, as well as a few local Bali Dogs who drop in to say hello and eat. Upon discovering that many countries don’t allow animals from Indonesia to be brought in (Australia, we are looking at you!), it left us with no choice. We just had to find a way to stay here permanently.   In January 2019, we officially opened The Juicy Effect in Ubud. We have a registered company and rights to work in Indonesia. Visit us in Ubud or connect with us online.

Meet Sharon Keating

“Hello, I’m Sharon.  I am a certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, Body-Mind Nutritionist and Health Coach, Hypnotherapist, Time-line Therapy Practitioner and Kinesiology Practitioner.  I am passionate about the intimate connection between the body and the mind and how we can capitalize on this connection to create optimum health.   I support my clients in letting go of habits and patterns that no longer serve them, replacing them with ways of operating in the world that truly serves them.  I believe that we all have the ability to cultivate a mind, a body and the energy and vitality that will support us in creating the life that we want.

Ayurveda teaches us that everyone has a unique and different body and mind constitution.  It is just like a fingerprint.   In addition to this, everyone has different things that are important to them.   When I am working with clients I draw on a range of modalities which are best suited to their individual needs and goals.  I work holistically focusing on what I like to call ‘synergistic wellbeing’ the integration of Mental, Emotional, Physical and spiritual wellbeing.  It involves a bit of experimentation and working out just what is right for you.   This leads to greater understanding ‘of the self’ a crucial part of the journey.  Together this is the foundation to igniting your flow, and being and feeling More Awesome More Often.

Qualifications:  Masters of Commerce and Marketing, Bachelor of Commerce First-class Honours (Curtin University Australia), Change Management Practitioner, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, Body-Mind Nutritionist and Health Coach, Hypnotherapist, Time-line Therapy Practitioner, Kinesiology Practitioner and Meditation Practitioner., click here.

And meet Jason Buchanan

"I have to admit, for a long time I had ignored much of the knowledge that has ironically become the basis of what we now do at The Juicy Effect.  Up until my mid-thirties I could eat and drink almost anything and it didn't seem to matter.  As a Business Leader I was focused on profit and numbers yet didn’t have a clue that my health was in overdraft. I needed a plan to correct the deficit.  Getting back in control of my health, whilst still achieving the goals that are important to me, has been wonderful.

The state of your wellbeing impacts pretty much everything, however there is a lot of really bad wellbeing knowledge and advice out there. The good news is that with the right knowledge, you can make choices that suit you.  Our products and services have been crafted to include many different disciplines and approaches that will support you to build the foundations you need to be your version of yourself, both in and out of work. My speciality is to help those who care a lot about their business and career, and how to achieve your goals without breaking yourself (or others around you) in the process. I am still very much involved in the corporate world, it’s just that I now do it from Ubud.

Qualifications:  Bachelor or Business (Marketing), Diploma of Export, Diploma of Neuroscience in Leadership, as well as successfully transitioning through a broad variety of industries, roles, functions and experiences using the techniques that we teach every day. Currently studying Vedic Astrology specialising in Business & Career.

And this is what we love...
